I am super desperate for a job right now to the point that I have done things like hold my nose and apply for jobs at Crypto and AI companies and even Phillip-Morris because I know it won't be forever.

Guaranteed. Most of the worlds population simply just doesn't care about Palestinians. Every time I bring it up in conversation, it's always met with an indifference "yeah, that's terrible"
Many people on Lemmy do not care about Palestinians. Oh, sure, they claim they care while pointing fingers and accusing people of supporting genocide, but lately I've been asking if people will write an email to a politician or a celebrity or a business leader, anyone who has the ability to talk to the media, and ask them to use that ability to talk about the plight of Palestinians. One person, and not a person I asked directly, said they would email their Senator.
And at this point, I have to wonder how many of the people right now very happy to accuse others of supporting genocide will be sitting on a private beach at a resort in Gaza because, "I know it's really terrible what happened here, but it was such a bargain!"
