Same thing happens if you microwave a bag of chips.

Remember doing that in grade 6. Felt like absolute heresy putting metal in the microwave (and a lot of kids reacted accordingly)

Is the glass:- Half full? Half empty? Twice as big for redundancy and margin of error? Twice as big but needs to be and has to go into the pressure cooker? ....
