It ain't a competition - celebrating all good things and the accomplishments of others will help defeat all the toxic masculinity out there.

It's a wonder what simply walking outside does for your mental health. Good on him.
Pros:
good graphics
realtime physics simulation with ragdoll engine
no subscription service
almost no ads
never have to buy DLC
Cons:
it’s outside
almost no ads
oh boy, surely you haven't been outside in a city lately?
No subscription? Literally everything in that game is behind some kind of paywall, even transportation.
Pay2win garbage
I'd be careful to say what it can do for your mental health. I tried to make it work for me, but it always made me feel worse because it gave my mind time to ruminate on bad memories and feelings. I would've stopped doing that to myself sooner had I not heard that exercise = good feelings without caveats.
Oh, I'm definitely not saying it's a cure or anything for mental health. Just that it's amazing if it does work for you.
It definitely works for me. I go hiking regularly.
Maybe going outside but with another human to distract you could help?
It's not for everyone (as noted by that other commenter), but when I was in a bad place mentally, I was listening to a podcast and one of the guys said that whenever he was in a really tough situation, he'd go for a 30 minute walk before making any decisions and then when he'd had time to consider everything, he'd often have some idea where to get started fixing things. So I started going on walks listening to that exact podcast. Helped a lot. It's a double whammy, too. Not only do you have time to yourself where you can think about things (in my case while listening to the podcast because I have ADHD and just my own thoughts all at once are a bit too much, but when I'm also listening to something, I get less of it), you also get the happy hormones from physical exercise and fresh air.
Good on him for taking a hike. The first photo trips me up. Was the hike to the middle of a highway? Is there a placard or historical marker there in the middle of the highway?
I'd guess that was at the trailhead or right outside the trailhead of the trail he went hiking on. A lot of the trailheads I've seen on the pacific coast are like literally 10ft from the highway

Today I was able to sort out a few drawers full of shit in my room and part of a library.
That sort of thing takes me a few years
Overcoming depression is no small feat, though. Even just deciding to seek a therapist merits respect, imho.
