I'm guessing its from the Sargassum Seaweed. Flesh eating bacteria is known to love it's little patch of ocean paradise.

Well I'll be avoiding seaweed on the beach from here on out
seaweed that's washed up is pretty gross unless you're a microbiologist. maybe a marine biologist, too, anyhow. It usually starts getting rank pretty quickly.
Sargassum. The weed of deceit.
Would not be surprised if there were some kind of salty-swamp-monster living in the sargassum patch.
I mean, the patch is Freaking huge
Too bad there isn't another debate so Kamala could say they're eating the humans when referring to hurricanes.
