These trophies were announced for the US GP but instead Pirelli tires were handed out. Did Disney threaten to sue them or what happened?

What in tarnation is that? That has to be the ugliest trophy I've seen in a while.
It looks like some Mickey Mouse, Deadmau5, Daft Punk, LEGO minifig mashup.
Autosport put out an article but there's hardly any new info on who raised concerns over design similarly.
