It used to be so good back then but everything else has got better while Ubuntu has got worse
Eh. Do they still have Ubuntu Pro ads in the update UI? If so: stop, then I’ll care.
- I sometimes see it in the CLI when running apt update/upgrade. I've just tricked my mind to look past it.
- Whats wrong with ubuntu pro?
  
  …it’s a paid subscription service that the base os nags you to upgrade to?
If it didn't jam snap down your throat, I'd maybe take a look.
- Yeah. That's why I switched to Mint a couple of years ago.
Better to use Kubuntu edition, much better desktop and less crap that is nowdays in Ubuntu.
As much as I don't care to use Ubuntu anymore, I will always be grateful for giving 15-year-old me a comfortable and easy transition into Linux. Hard to believe that was 20 years ago, I think I still have one of the CD-ROMs they used to mail out somewhere.
