I would imagine that you could assume that other colonial powers did much the same.

It's a shame the pole won't be in Scotland where it could serve as an education piece both about colonialism and Indigenous culture in British Columbia, but I do understand the desire from the Nisga'a to bring back something they feel belongs to their Nation.

I visited Scotland last year and went to a few museums. It's crazy the amount of shit they stole from their colonies.
"Preserved" is the word they prefer.
Fuck their preferences. Looted. Pillaged. Stole. Strongarmed.
Like the big precious stones on the royal crown and scepter and everything. Stole 'em from India if I recall.
