I don't think you can publish a third game without publishing a first one
- Who says CIG ever wanted to publish a game in the first place? It always has been a “Game Development as a Service”
  
  Their kickstarter page does, promising both Star Citizen and Squadron 42
A third game? When I'm not even sure I'll live to see the official release of the first one?
They do plan to stretch this game out until what it depicts will be possible IRL.
- I think they're waiting for all their customers to die of old age so they can just fully abandon it with no consequences
