There have been multiple plea deals on and off the table. The last big one got torpedoed by some of the 9/11 victim families. They went on fox and newsmax and got republicans to attack it as 'caving to terrorist'
But, if this time works it's off to SuperMax.
Any form of incarceration subject to any laws or treaties whatsoever would be at least slightly better than Gitmo.
The mere fact of that place still burns my soul.
Some serious "are we the baddies?" vibes for sure.
I'd rather be in Gitmo than Texas.
