'Barbie' beats Batman, becomes Warner Bros.' highest-grossing domestic release

“Barbie” has topped $537 million, making it the highest-grossing domestic movie in Warner Bros. Discovery’s 100-year history.
The previous record holder was Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight,” which generated $536 million in 2008.
The bubblegum pink collaboration between Greta Gerwig, Mattel and Warner Bros. Discovery has collected more than $1.2 billion at the global box office since its July 21 release.

Well Barbie hasn't had to reinvent itself five times in cinema.

  I want to see Barbie vs Predator
Ticket prices are always going up and so is population size. Movies beating record sales always feels like a big nothing to me. Good movie though!
- And inflation. The Dark Knight is $745 million in this year's dollars.
  
  That was my first thought. "Are those numbers adjusted for inflation?" Glad you did the math so that I didn't have to.
- I feel like number of tickets sold, or maybe proportion of total tickets sold would be a better metric, but it's way more fun to keep breaking records. Plus it's mostly about the money anyways.
Why so serious?
You know, now that I think about it, I'm actually a lot like Christian Bale, in that we are so good at doing American accents people are all shocked to hear our real accents.
The curse of being too good at character acting...
With the year Warner has had they need every penny.
The pink oppressor has arrived ha ha ha.
