Stumbled on this and thought it was worth a share. I had no idea you can eat gorse!

It's flowers are meant to make a nice wine/mead

- For real? I saw that referenced somewhere and assumed the author was just being fanciful.
  I really want to try gorse now but I don't know where any handy gorse is.
  
  Look up gorse flower wine and cordial, I've not tried it myself, but must try to make some gorse mead one day
Karamū fruit is edible, I used to pick and eat the berries while waiting for the school bus as a kid.
- I did not know that! I've seen birds eating it but I was always a bit chicken because of the colour.
  
  The fruit to seed ratio is pretty rubbish, but they taste nice. Worth a go.
This has unlocked a memory for me of being taught how to eat supplejack at a school camp when I was in primary/intermediate!

  I've only eaten ferns and stuff. I really love bracken shoots and wish it wasn't a carcinogen.
  
  It’s so long ago I honestly can’t remember the taste. I just remember being shown to peel and eat the new shoots
