United Methodists remove anti-gay language from their official teachings on societal issues

Anything to try to boost membership amid dismal numbers in organized religion
- United Methodists have always been a very liberal and progressive church. This isn’t a gimmick or boost for the masses but bringing their teachings in line with their sayings.
  
  The adage if youre looking to split hairs and divide your Methodists is the united Methodists were always more free and the free Methodists more united.
  Its a broad tent, most of which didn't directly mean evangelical when I grew up, but there's still free Methodists that don't believe in dancing.
  Openly serving gay and lesbian clergy was the hot gossip 20 years ago, it's been a slow move but they got there.
Not to the the typical atheist in the room but there very fact that they are negotiating this shit gives lie to the whole concept.
In truth, only the fundamentalist from the Phillipines had it "right", or whatever passes for right in this insane ghost story that no one wrote a proper end to.
If you want to be amused by this, picture devout Methodist George W. Bush's reaction.
- Methodist are diverse. Bush was one, but so was Hillary.
  
  Sure, but you can't say it isn't amusing to think of Dubya throwing a conniption fit because his church is pro-LGBT+.
