Do we post every release of every software now without even explaining what it is or why this release is interesting?
- Agreed, this is obnoxious. Release notes are only relevant to folks who are already using the software.
  This community seems completely unmoderated.
  
  This community is not unmoderated, nor is it micromanaged. As has been shared in these comments, some members of this community appreciate these new release postings. If you don't, ignore/hide it and/or downvote it and move on.
- Kavita is a fast, feature rich, cross platform reading server. Built with the goal of being a full solution for all your reading needs. Setup your own server and share your reading collection with your friends and family.
  I do agree, if it's not in its own community a short explanation of what it is would be great.
- Personally, I like it when people post new releases. I get to look at what people are running and figure out if it's a good fit for me. It also gives people an opportunity to post should they encounter any problems upgrading. But I shan't bother again.
  
  I am not against these postings. But is should at least explain in a few key words what the software even is.
  
  This is a generalist community. Tell us about the app you are excited about, not its latest update. That's all!

  Sulking isn't super effective here. Unless you are responsible for a bunch of posts like this, you just had bad timing - it's not personal.
