Made grilled chicken with mash and Brussels for dinner, but also a casserole to simmer away. It smells bloody lovely and I can foresee a second dinner being partaken of ๐
Also I ripped out a molar which has been giving me the shits for a while, rotting away right up the back there. It feels great! I feel strangely fantastic! I can smile without something jabbing me in the cheek! I can eat without accidentally chomping down on an out of place tooth!
Sounds like a great dinner. But wait, do you mean at dentist or DIY?!
DIY. I've known this tooth was a gonner for over 10 years as a result of consulting a periodontist all those years ago. Lately it got a bit loose, so I've been working on this tooth for a month or so, just wiggling it and gently twisting. Today I figured it was probably at the stage where it'd actually come out. Horrid thing it was, glad to be finally rid of it.
She 100% would be the person who takes their baby to the movies (to see a non-kids film). The entitlement is off the charts.
Ironically, Ms Faranda was politely asked by hosts of The Project to hand her baby to her partner last night after the child's crying disrupted the interview.
HA!!
Yeah, I took the kids out all the time when they were babies. Shops, markets, cafes etc. I never took them to a cinema or a show, because that would be inconsiderate.
I'm all about parental rights, and absolutely all about parental facilities catering to dads. But my rights end at the point where they impinge on yours.
I took little miss seagoon to see bambi when she was five, matinee of course, at valhalla
I also took her to see Cats when she was about 7
here's the thing, by considering the needs of the child the child will be content and happy and easy , any place where where the child is going to miserable you don't take them and that also works out for the other people there
I feel so bad for that baby in the news
I'm gonna become a gamer tomorrow. I've got the Nintendo Switch juiced up. I found a game called Warshmellows. It's a shooty game but fun with cute and violent characters. I'm gonna see if there's a cricket game too. Just waiting for the "technicians" to hook me up so I can practice today.
I've never played the Switch before. Should be fun.
Oohh sounds exciting if itโs your first time.
The switch is the perfect console for lower case G gamers. It's fun as hell!
Finished Fallout. I've played 3 and 4 so the revelation wasn't a MASSIVE surprise. But I like how effectively everyone stuck to their game roles. Bad guys were bad, morally grey guys were grey, and nice smattering of wasteland just to make everything a touch more complicated. My only complaint was we saw a more Fallout 4 Brotherhood than a Fallout 3 one.
I played all the Fallout installations and loved every one, however, I cannot get on board with the show. Most of it feels like โfillerโ that I must trudge through to get to any meaningful revelation.
After my last disastrous attempt at picking up this spare number plate, I'm trying again. There's a teacher's strike on, so I have a rare opportunity during office hours for this.
We left home at 7am, just got to the department of transport just now. It opens in 15 minutes. 8am on a Tuesday morning is obviously a busy time, since I'm 36th in the queue.
Don't know what's better. A screaming junkie, or those Jesus pushers outside Footscray station that stop you so you have to take your headphones off.
I was so stressed earlier today that it triggered my asthma and I was getting really short on breath. New experience as a new asthma sufferer. A lot of Ventolin and a good gym session later, feeling much more relaxed. Night rain helps too although itโs really coming down.
Well I will be. The nice pest control ossifer that I rang up for this morning turned up almost to the minute. Will be removing 2 wasp nests. If wasps still present after a week, they come back and do it again. Could get used to this sort of service.
edit: Surprise of the week. One of the wasp nests wasn't wasps - it was bees. European honey bees. So that nest wasn't poisoned, but dug up and the nice pest control ossifer took it home with him in a bucket to add to his collection of hives. There may be some stray worker bees looking for it over the next few days but he successfully found the queen and two baby queens too. The nest didn't have much honey in it, so I freely gifted him with any that was there. He then reduced the quoted cost cos the quoted cost included the chemicals for destroying 2 wasp nests and only 1 lot was used. Shout out to him.
Depends on the calibre of what you're reading... Tbh I find most commercial news in Australia to be exactly that, parochial and petty bourgeois
Hot take Tuesday. Whenever I'm scrolling on news sites or the other place and I come across headings like "What is this thing?" or "You'll never guess what someone found in their Big Mac?" I don't want to know. I'm not clicking.
Piggybacking off from you I hate news articles that tease something then it ends with โClick here to find out!โ
Pisses me off to no end.
Also I had to look up the interview news about the baby and The Project.
Sky news and News.com.au have the headlines of the โhost mocked for interviewโ
Most other news outlet are neutral with their headlines but the vitriol of sky news and News.com.au is disgusting.
Same.
I can't be bothered with teaser headings, that includes on news articles.
@Seagoon @CEOofmyhouse56 And more often than not, the answer is lame.
"You'll never believe what this '90s heartthrob looks like now!"
It looks like him, but 30 years older.
And I would believe it, because he was famous 30 years ago.
"You'll never believe what the kids of this celebrity are doing now!"
Going to uni.
Because they're in their early 20s.
ABC is unreadable these days
I feel bad for kids who will grow up not knowing what they've missed (by extension I'd be the same, I never really experienced Australia prior to 2009 when I first arrived). The new normal....
Sitting in a city office, after having spent 2 hours getting here. Wearing a with mask, listening to all the coughing around me. Doing work that I could do just fine at home. Wearing headphones with music on to block out the noise from all the other people on teams meetings, so no โculture and collaborationโ is happening. How has the world come to this absolute bullshit of โreturn to office, Covid is over, back to having no lifeโ?
it sounds beautiful
The wind is getting ferocious here.

Just a chunk of room temp cheddar thats been left on the counter overnight please
For those that drink or make coffee with froth on top.
How much is an acceptable amount of froth and how much is unacceptable?
Ugh only got 4 hours of sleep from stress, did not pick up car last night due to poor communication from them around payment methods. Got in a really foul mood and threw aside my people-pleasing tendencies to let the seller know how disappointed I was that they wasted so much of my time after already having spent so much time on this and giving them a frankly better price than they deserve. Fuck it, I knew it made them uncomfortable and I dug in because I'm tired of always being the one copping it.
Thankfully the husband at least gave me a ride all the way home and I found a friend who's kind enough to drive me back down tonight. I cannot wait for this saga to be over!!!!
Is it still worth picking up after all you had to go through?
I have lost this game of bedtime chicken. Hopefully not see you until breakfast.
Goodnight mate!
I got the full story about that guy I've mentioned the other day.
Everything I've told him in confidence has been spread around. People I haven't met, know about my substance issues from the past.
I am so fucking angry right now. But, it will pass.
He's dead to me.
Is this the one who's been self destructing?
I'm sorry gibsy. I'm not sure this is the case, although it probably does feel like it but I'm sure you won't be judged about your past as much as it feels like you might. Those people don't even know you, they're probably not likely to pass too much judgement
Try not to let it affect your trust too much (which I realise is easier said than done). There's still good people out there, and speaking from experience, isolating yourself won't help
Ugh. That is awful. What a POS.
