Is it possible to connect Assist with Matrix?

I like the idea of Assist that you already can write to it and it can do stuff. But I really dislike that I have to open the HA frontend and then press the button at top and then there is a popup and there you write stuff.

What I'd like is to just have a room on may Matrix server and the conversation happening there instead, is that possible somehow? I'm trying to google it but I can't find what I'm looking for.
