Gotta love a Sunday!
Pickles and potat all labelled ready for storage ๐
Go you! Such a stash
wow , that's looks awesome ( and delicious )
I googled how to increase my blue tooth range and it said to put them closer together.
Grinding Subnautica today ๐๐ ๐ซง๐๐ฆ๐๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ชธ๐คฟ
I've tried to play that game so many times, but the deep sea scares me in ways I find difficult to verbalise.
Sometimes, I just skate across the top to the islands and scream because I don't know what's below me, and what if they're all chasing me just under the surface.
What's your favourite bits of the game? :)
I tried too as well and I find it too scary for me :(
Ha yes! Itโs wild because I am an experienced diver IRL professional and recreational.
Thalassophobia has only stricken me on those rare occasions where you have really good visibility in daytime and floating over a coral shelf that drops off into the abyss. Into nothingness.
This game does an astonishing job of replicating that feeling. Itโs uncanny. (The large screaming monster noises probably donโt help either lol)
Have you gotten as far as getting a PRAWN suit? They aren't quite invincible, but they can take a hit from anything in the game. One PRAWN suit and a repair tool, and you can face anything in the ocean. You can kill just about anything in the ocean, for that matter. Though the game does nothing to encourage or reward that.
Family visiting this weekend and I whipped up a proper lunch for everyone around my table. Realised it's the first time I have cooked for a group in this new place. And it worked well. It's a small apartment but everyone fit and chilled and it was really nice. I needed that. ๐
I'm slowly tidying and cleaning after months of being pretty bed bound
Donโt overdo itโฆ.
I'm having a coffee too , this slow tidying is killing me
The sun is getting very tardy about rising these days, most disappointing. Mr Woof insisted I get up at 6am this morning and now he's gone back to bed and I'm sitting on the couch looking out at darkness.
You'll get your dawn back for a little bit in a couple of weeks. But yeah, brace yourself.
[Insert Sean Bean meme here]
Here's a weird one.
Neighbour dropped off some chocolate yesterday out of the blue.
This guy complains about my leaves on the nature strip.. cuts his lawn with hand shears. I've only spoken to him maybe 3 times.
He's an odd dude.. but..
then he said which uni degree which I did well over a decade ago.. How the fuck would he know that.
Major stalking vibes.
test the chocolate on a mouse
Could this be whoever nicked your chilli crop? And the choc is a sorta kinda apology?
Have you mentioned the degree to any other neighbours? He might have heard about it that way, and is trying to make conversation, very awkwardly. But still weird to mention it to you. And donโt eat the chocolates.
that's the weird thing I haven't mentioned it. It's the most boring conversaion killer degree you can think of.
the good relationships are invisible
ding ding. ๐๏ธ thatโs it.
I try to post good bits, but it feels weird/boasty/not ok. Complaining is more broadly accepted โ ๏ธ
people do love to gossip about other people's bad relationships
most media does feed that
me, I'm fairly private but I want to say I'm the luckiest person in the world to have Mr Seagoon,
My experiences have been truly terrible. I got together with the wrong sort of person, and have paid the price for that repeatedly. That said, and regardless of my experience, I do believe there are healthy relationships out there to be had.
I think one must be more selective which is interesting, because I've found that the longer I'm single, the more prone I am to making a catastrophic mistake in who I let into my life.
This is a topic I'm very interested in. Investing in a relationship is hard work sometimes. Taking the rough with the smooth, communication about issues, that sort of thing. If you grew up with shit examples of relationships and parenting then it can become a default program for yourself as well, and it sometimes takes hard work and guts to break the mould. People don't know how to do it, therapy can be costly and time consuming, and people tend to believe that if a good relationship doesn't come easily then it's not worth it.
Also it must be said: some relationships do not survive long after the early passionate heat of sexual discovery makes way for the place where companionship grows.
The Sydney Road Street Party is on, and this is great. Chilling on my balcony with a coffee and getting some free live music. ๐ค
Lucky thing! I so miss living around Sydney Rd!
I am made of regrets,

I watched "The Fall" 2006 today. Such a beautiful movie, visually and the story too. Can recommend. It's only available on YT and it's free, no ads.
Took Minipeelers to an optometry appointment, which I cleverly scheduled when the Brunswick Music Festival started. I love local festivals! I just had the nicest salt and pepper calamari I've had in years, and the fish and chips swoons. It's a great vibe down here and it's only going to get better! I encourage anyone who can to get down here and enjoy the day, there's going to be so much free music and street performers, plus I've already bought something from a couple of street vendors, there's heaps of stalls. Don't mind me I just love this kind of thing!
Aw yeah!! Treat yourself!! ๐๐
The days seem to be flying by so fast. Does anyone else remember that old ad of Jimeoin repeatedly sliding past the camera in his jocks yelling "Monday!" "Tuesday!" ...?
I read somewhere that as you age, each day seems shorter because subconsciously you compare it to all the time that's already passed. To a 30 year old, a day probably feels like what 4 hours feels like to a 15 year old.
I hope that makes sense.
Yep. See the Stephen King short story โMy Pretty Ponyโ.
You have reminded me of it. My best metal picture of him involves the escalator walk behind a bench.
Someone else remembers! I canโt find the ad and thought I imagined it
Just finished season two of The Bear...wow that was some good television.
Itโs the sort of show where you need a cup of tea and a lie down after an episode. It holds nothing back.
How is it nearly 1.30 already
Itโs sickening. I just watched a documentary on SBS about US-Israel relations. Itโs horrifying how so very few men have such power over the destiny and suffering of millions, and how utterly little they care about the lives of those millions. They sit in their lovely offices and have coffee and chats and decide to have war or peace, give aid or let people starve, put lines on maps and play handshakes in front of cameras.
Hide in their tunnels or luxury hotels safe from bombs while they stash billions in aid in swiss bank accounts
Slightly annoyed rabbit
What are your rabbit's favourite foods? :)
Mainly hay, lettuce and cauliflower leaves, but we give them some store bought rabbit food they love once a week and sometimes cucumbers carrots and apples.
Dad turned up with a new kitchen gadget for me. A new, cripple proof kettle that I donโt even have to lift to use.
I donโt need it - I have two perfectly good, fairly new kettles already, the second of which I initially bought specifically because my parents argued my first (basic stovetop) kettle wasnโt safe for someone with my balance to use. I havenโt asked for it. It solves a problem that for me at least fundamentally doesnโt matter/doesnโt exist.
But I have a new kettle nevertheless. And heโs stashed both my old ones on a high shelf I canโt reach, because itโs the only cupboard or shelf space my kitchen has left, so I canโt even change it back.
Itโs a good kettle, donโt get me wrong. I just donโt quite know why he decided to get it for me.
Maybe someone else recommended it, and he acted on that recommendation. Which is fine as far as it goes. I figure it's a bit rude to just show up with it and re-configure your pre-existing quite satisfactory arrangements though.
I've got one of those... it's good for those with different needs/uses but for me it's annoying af
Is it safe for you to use a stepladder? If so perhaps keep it stashed out of sight (so they don't decide you can't use it). Or a friend could pull the kettle you want down and you can keep it hidden on a low shelf.
because he cares for you
Thought I was going to try Jack fruit tonight. Turns out this tin is less than 10%. A exercise in reading labels better. ๐พ

I made plunger coffee today. Sorry I french pressed the coffee today. I haven't done this since maybe last century and it worked first go. I will be drinking coffee all day and be thinking about a nice coffee cosy to make.
Once you get it right and learn how much to use youโll find out how wonderful it is.
Itโs a little bit more grounded and intense I find via a plunger but it does taste quite nice like that.
Hope you enjoy!
Oh I am enjoying. Thank you.
I'm currently in preserving mode. Yesterday I bottled some potatoes and put some zucchini in the dehydrator. This morning I ground the dried zucchini to make flour and cut a load of tomatoes to dry. I plan to do some zucchini pickles today (and maybe marinated capsicums) and have plans in the next few days to smoke some chillis and start on jam making.
Zucchini flour? That sounds tasty. How does it perform as a flour?
I've only started using it recently, but it is supposed to be able to be exchanged for normal flour in most recipes. It should be particularly good for adding to baking like scones or cakes where you want more moisture, but you would not want much in bread as it does not have gluten. Also good for things like thickening stews.
Yum.
Iโd like to go to bed but my rear neighbours are having a party, the drunk singing / hollering is real loud. What ever happened to telling your neighbours youโre having a party in advance?
What do I want for breakfast. I do not know
๐บ
I donโt know what I want, either. Let me know when you find out.
Breakfast wrap. Coffee.
Making relevant notes about my gym sesh, and it turns out I actually work quite hard?
Not quite sure what these birds are, cockatiel?, but there are 5 of them in my yard and they are astonishingly noisy!
The way they're catching the light makes them look like angels
Corellas? Both long beak ones and short beak ones can be seen in Melbourne. Hard to see their eyes in the photo - corellas have really weird eyes imo.
I think you are right. Possibly the Little sort. These guys have a crest to go with their yell.
Such vivid dreams last night. The most frustrating part was I was trying to teach some troubled youth about Tim Curry but for the life of me I couldn't remember his name. I literally had to google Pennywise actor when I woke up because I'd just somehow lost it. Even Obama couldn't help me, who rocked up to chat while I was trying to remember the name. Thanks, Obama.
Mine was trying to buy new glasses while wearing a tractor tyre as a swim ring. It was making it really difficult to squeeze into the booth to talk to the glasses person. Could also have used Obamaโs help.
Apple Music has a 'Music of Mardi Gras' playlist today. Very sad to not see NWA's Fuck Tha Police on there.
A band on Sydney road just played Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine and let me tell you, the street was chanting it lol. They should add that to the Mardi Gras playlist lol
No rain for another weekโฆ going to be doing a lot of watering againโฆ
30/50 this time. Plenty of guessing though.
Did OK on this one - 35/50. At least not much sport content today.

scrolling thru jewellery stores, i click heaps but rarely buy

Apparently I'm a monster because I closed the bedroom door while I re-strung my guitar. Strings are very pointy at the ends, and would easily hurt a cats body or in particular, their eyes.
You would think I was actively torturing a rather small cat if you heard the wails. So dramatic.
Is Gibson channelling her inner husky perchance? Or did she think you were eating sardines without the proper feline approval and participation?
I thank god that there's a door that divides the front half of the house to the back half. Would never get privacy otherwise.
Melbcat is hiding from me because I had to force feed her meds.
Another week of this twice daily to go...
Poor thing. Hopefully she'll get used to it for the remaining time.
Can I see cat
