OK first attempt at posting a photo...
This is Clyde, one half of the local pair with Bonnie. Been visiting us for years and always bring their juvenile offspring to meet us.
Hi Clyde. ๐
I should probably inform you that this is not an owl. Nor does it appear to run on electricity, but I can't be 100% certain of that.
When I first got my dog people would say "oh he's your boy" and I'm like "no he's my buddy". Now I'm like "come here to mummy. Tell me what you want". I even do baby talk with him which I never did with my own child. I love hearing him crunching on food yet hate it when humans do it.
Do you also ask your dog to go get mummy a beer?
Haha. I have asked but he chooses ignorance at times.
Good thing I panicked & spent a heap of coin and time on the watering systems in the last 2 months :(
I will be vindicated broken clock and all that but for now I have no idea if what is in actually will keep shit alive in a dry spell.
Ha this is me too. Just a few weeks ago finished a big four-zone system all done in about 120m of buried 19mm pipe.
Thankfully it's all phone-controllable, so we've just been able to hit 'defer' and not have it come on in the rain... but the defer button has been getting a workout :|
I was going to put in sprinklers etc as Iโd planted a lot, but the weather has been most helpful thus far. Was worried about planting early summer due to El Niรฑo.
You are better off buying components and setting up and building your experience in the good times, rather than when shtf and everything is sold out/expensive and people are more desperate :)
ain't nothing like a facebook rando threatening to do very real physical violence to you because you pointed out Doctor Who has always been a bit camp.
I thought most people (myself included) were into Doctor Who because it was camp...
to be totally fair, Its gone from a bit more subtle to... drastically less so with Ncuti. I'm not complaining, but for the more oblivious viewers it might've been a bit of a shock.
nah, it's just actually moved with the times. Very gen Z aimed, but it's a TV show, what do you expect?
She's gone again, Miss Seagoon has gone to NZ for a year or so ๐ญFlight in a few hours
Sounds like a good excuse for a visit!
So Gibson is still sluggish today... Do you guys think it's still from yesterday's heat? My appointment with the vet is tomorrow. She's eating and drinking just fine. Just won't move from the bed....
Always worth a look if you are genuinely concerned! My idiot was all floppy and slow once, so I went to the emergency clinic and he actually had a pretty high fever. They gave an injection and it was no joke as if someone had rebooted him, once home it was as if nothing had ever happened.
Thatโs just called Wednesdays in cat world.
It won't hurt her to go to the vet for a checkup. I suspect everything will be fine. It's a good opportunity for her to learn that a vet visit can be nice.
Your cat sounds like me whenever I have a day off work.
Dinner devoured.
Stacked Burger and fries.
Need to resist falling to a food coma.
MrsCalhoon, kidcalhoon1 & 2 are camping riverside in Warburton. .... They're wet.... From the BoM - possibly severe with heavy rain which may lead to flash flooding....good, good, not worried at all.....
yeah I hate to say it but I'd be pulling up stumps.
Didn't have dinner last night cause I just wasn't hungry, this morning I had some multigrain sourdough toast and orange juice and my stomachs still if its happy with that or not. Fuck this, Im gonna get some chips for lunch. Just wanna feel normal for a bit.
Lamb rump steak consumed - with glee. The airfryer does them perfectly. Juicy pink insides, crispy fat and the potat & cauli mash went superbly with them. Does anyone else hate cleaning lamb fat out of the airfryer? This is the only downside.
Trying a pressure cooker risotto tonight. Meatballs were incredible, so have high hopes.
Edit. Well that was bloody amazing. 25 minutes total prep/cooking time.
This sounds sacrilegious. Iโve heard of no stir risotto, but pressure cooker?
I didn't realise that AI extended to music but of course it does, and of course there's an explosion of AI covers/mashups and I do think we are in the end times. Late to the party but Holy moly.
Have this "cover" of Hank Williams doing Straight Outta Compton....

e: I realise now that the millennial-humour era of crude but funny mashups and covers - "ain't nobody got time for that" and "autotune the news" from a decade ago, and more recent mashups - is well and truly over and dead forever.
3 years ago - Donald Trump "sings" Blinding Lights by The Weekend (manual mashup) https://youtu.be/slGYJfPtW7c?si=F2WttIigap4VUU-j
2 weeks ago - Donald Trump "sings" Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah (AI).

This is the world we live in now... Goodnight.
Things that shouldnโt exist. (Didnโt click, donโt want to know what hat sounds like)
Just had some crazy bloke come up and start shouting at me. Ffs why do we put up with this city?!
I think that's a feature of most major cities. Not that it's good, but at this point I almost expect it.
Miss Seagoon is home for the day, ๐ then she is off to NZ for a coupla years ๐ญ
So you are saying you have a great excuse for a kiwi holiday? Well done!
Got the bins in just before the rain came over. Sipping a coffee and watching the weather through my window is blissful.
I've turned into an 80 year old somehow
Nothing pairs better than coffee and rain. Except maybe getting hammered and eating maccas at 3am.
I just wish I wasn't in such a grumpy mood and could enjoy the serenity
turned into an 80 year old
not yet, or you would been yelling at the clouds
Who says I wasn't
The Albanese government can absolutely go fuck itself. People earning $200,000 and over to get tax cuts equaling to $9000 a year, while low income workers get a measley $125 a year in tax cuts. Doing absolutely fuck all about the cost of living crisis while they're at it. Can't believe I voted for these useless pricks.
"In 2024โ25, the Government will simplify and flatten the personal tax system byย abolishing the 37 per cent tax bracket entirely. Australians earning more than $41,000 will only pay 32.5 cents in the dollar all the way up to the top marginal tax rate threshold that will be adjusted to $200,000."
This is actually great for me and a lot of people who aren't on 200k+
Asked a mate of a mate if they wanted me to download a couple of torrents for them since I'm going to meet them to watch a movie.
Nek minit, I've ended up with JDownloader to manage a ton of debrid direct downloads and figured out SoulSeek (this place still survived after two decades?!) to get some random EDM flacs...
Feeling very 2000s especially with having to configure port forwarding and fiddle with UIs that probably haven't been updated since that era as well
After buying new decals for the bedroom I decided it was time to actually apply the ones I bought a while ago for the kitchen bench. I'm pretty happy with the result.
Nice.
I was picturing fast and furious style decals on the toilet bowl ๐
Then I realised it said bedroom, not bathroom ๐ฅด
It's looking like a wet walk this morning. I just washed Mr Woof's raincoat, I guess we'll be getting it dirty again ๐
I cleared a lot of stuff out of my bedroom and now have a blank wall that is looking very boring. I have now ordered many decals from Temu, and may have also thrown in one of a mouse coming through a hole in the wall to hide somewhere at work.
Do you look for water when you cross bridges?
It starts with a laser measure and now i'm lookin' for fancy kick vents (cupboard's gonna go over a floor duct). Punkin's tired of waiting for catmandu
that should be enough time for a walk, orange juice, and salt trip
edit: yes
I might try a new Linux distro, Linux mint is boring. Any suggestions on what I should try? (Preferably not too hard I'm fairly new to Linux)
His Lordship is a big fan of Kunbuntu, personally I use slackware but that's because I'm a masochist
I don't know why that's a problem. I want stability and efficiency in my OS. It isn't like I use my computer for the OS, the OS is there to run software and entertainment and keep out of my way. Excitement hasn't been a requirement for me.
Personally, I use Fedora with KDE, but you could likely just install and switch window managers to KDE with your current Mint install. A fresh window manager can feel like a new OS.

Shall I make the new post at midnight?
Righto. See you in 5.
Finally am negative, I am free to fly the nest!!! I still have what I would describe as a head cold but other than that I am good to gooooooo! Time to reschedule everything I've had to cancel in the last two weeks and blow my calendar way out.
Cool. ๐
